If you have kids in school, I’m sure you know school fundraisers are a big deal!
The goal, of course, is to find a quick & easy fundraising activity that doesn’t take a lot of time for families to do and in my opinion, should allow the kids to get involved in fundraising efforts without having them go door-to-door.
We’re always look for more practical fundraisers because honestly, how much frozen cookie dough can you really keep in the freezer?!
Since we’re not crazy over the idea of selling items, we love to support our schools through the Box Tops for Education™ program — it’s super quick, really easy and I’m going to show you a few secrets on how to double & triple the value of the Box Tops for your school this year!
Easy Fundraising Idea for Schools
If you missed our post last week, be sure to read about how the Box Tops for Education™ program is the perfect volunteer opportunity for kids of all ages offering them opportunities to learn leadership, responsibility and how to directly contribute to their community!
Today’s post is a tutorial on how to substantially increase the value of your Box Tops with the eBoxTops™ option so your school can reach their goal quickly!
Just like the regular paper Box Tops you find on the products you purchase, eBoxTops™ are also work .10 cents for your school — but instead of cutting them out & sending them to school, eBoxTops are awarded electonically to your schools earnings at SamsClub.com/BoxTops as soon as you enter them online!
I know – super cool idea for all us “always on our phone” parents 🙂
And the best part of the program — all I have to do is shop for items we use! No going door-to-door to sell cookie dough or wrapping paper (yea!!)
Here’s how we did it —
Step 1: Head to Sam’s Club and purchase at least 3 of the items on the Box Tops for Education™ items
There are a TON of products on the list! Visit the Sam’s Club website and click on “View Participating Products” to see the full list.
We purchased Honey Nut Cheerios and two boxes of granola bars — perfect for back to school time. You can easily identify the Box Top products as they are clearly labeled with the banners you can see in the photo above.
** Be sure to buy all 3 items on the same reciept in a single purchase and save your receipt **
Step 2: Snap a photo of your receipt showing the date, UPC code numbers and total purchase amount
Basically get the whole receipt in the picture 😉
Send the picture to [email protected] and you’ll receive a unique code.
Step 3: Enter this code at SamsClub.com/BoxTops and your eBoxTops™ earnings will be added to your school’s total!
It’s really that easy and earns you a TON more for your school!
As you can see in the chart above, purchasing 3 BoxTop items will earn your school 100 eBoxTops™ which is a $10 into your school’s account!
And if you’d rather send everything in via snail mail, they have an easy form on the website you can complete — which is a great thing to have at PTO meetings and back to school nights to inform parents about this additional fundraising option!
The other great thing about buying Box Top items at Sam’s Club is that you’ll earn regular Box Top points + BONUS Box Top points along with the eBoxTops™ amount too!! Here’s an example of what the 2 different paper BoxTops look like on each of your products.
Some of the packaging will also have details on how to earn with the eBoxTops™ & Box Tops for Education™ program too so it’s an easy reminder when you unpack your items at home.
Here’s a breakdown of the value of the Box Tops on the 3 items we purchased this week:
Regular BoxTops on items = 4 x .10 cents = .40 cents
BONUS BoxTops on packages = 20 x .10 cents – $2.00
eBoxTops™ with receipt = $10.00
TOTAL earned for school = $12.40 !!!
I know!
Just think if 10 other families earned the same amount in BoxTops — that’s $124.00!
And if 100 families in your school did that over the school year, that’s more than $1,000 — awesome fundraising activity isn’t it!
One thing I absolutely LOVE about the eBoxTops is that you can purchase items for a local charity (like a nice large box of cereal which is always a needed item at the food pantry during back to school time) and you don’t have to cut into the box (which is frowned upon at some food collection centers.) You’ll just use your receipt to earn eBoxTops™ for your school instead of clipping the paper BoxTops on the donated item.
So save those recipts & clip those BoxTops this year!
