One of the holiday traditions that we look forward to the most in our family is having an Advent Calendar. I remember having one as a child — putting candy canes into the slots each day as we counted down to Christmas Eve. And now we do one with our kids too. Our countdown changes …
Kids Activities & Crafts
I’m one of those parents that still believes in surprises during the holidays.
Each year, we brainstorm ideas for some unique gift that we can get each of the kids — something they would LOVE but that didn’t make their list.
We start by thinking about their current passions and obsessions. You know how kids get crazy for certain things — they become nuts over dinosaurs or horses, or all of a sudden they are infatuated with art or building.
I love to explore the world with my kids!
There’s something very eye-opening about learning how other people live and seeing the beautiful places around the globe.
And even though we love to travel, most of our foreign explorations happen right in our own home.
While I’m a BIG fan of Halloween and all the fun that goes along with it, I’m always bothered by the amount of candy we accumulate during all the holiday festivities. Textured art offers kids the opportunity to not only create a masterpiece but to involve their senses in the art process.
Fall is a great time to explore apples and we had some super cool ideas shared at the Discover & Explore linky last week.
The kids will enjoy these hands-on activities as they explore more about apples — painting, playdough, taste tests and sensory fun!
If you’ve ever wondered how to make those gorgeous leaf prints using colorful fall leaves, I can tell you — they’re easy enough for the kids to do! Seems like we’ve had a good dose of chaos at our house this month — the kids had 5 days off from school for Fall break, my …
As a parent, it seems that we’re constantly learning new things when it comes to raising our kids. Take, for example, the year my son began studying for standardized tests (SAT, ACT, etc). He attended a review session at school to sit for a practice test which would help him to learn more about the …
The Summer Olympics are beginning soon & we’re going to make them an AMAZING event for your family! Besides cheering on your favorite country, we thought it would be fun to create a friendly Learn & Play Summer Olympic Challenge for the kids too. We’ve teamed up with an outstanding group of kid-friendly bloggers from …
