We are only a few weeks away from the opening of the SEA LIFE Kansas City Aquarium. I was able to attend a media event last week and thought I would get everyone excited with a few pictures and fun facts about one of the sea creatures that will call the aquarium home: stingrays!
Fun & Learning
Welcome to the new Discover & Explore linky! The linky is hosted by Edventures with Kids and Fantastic Fun & Learning. Each week, we will feature a different theme and ask you to link up your kids activities, crafts, recipes, outings, booklists and family-friendly posts. This week, we will Discover & Explore Butterflies! …
I love getting kids excited about books! I’ve also learned that Children’s Book Publishers also love to get kids excited about reading.
So this week’s edition of our 5 Fun Finds features some of the top Children’s Publishing websites and the amazing games & activities they offer — all linked to great kids books.
Exploring the world and learning about different cultures is an important way to help your kids to grow. One fun way to do that this month is to celebrate Chinese New Year: the Year of the Dragon!
Wow has summer just flown by or what?! The kids only have a few more weeks before they start classes here (they are NOT ready to go back) and this is the last topic in our Summer Science series.
If you’ve missed the previous science projects and booklists, please check out the links at the bottom of the post — Trisha (Inspiration Laboratories) and I have had such a fun time pulling together hands-ons science and many of the activities can be used year round!

If you have blocks, legos or anything that stacks in the house, I’m sure your child has tried to build something. Playing around with engineering ideas and principles helps kids to better understand the world around them and how things work (it’s an early introduction to the world of physics!)
This week’s Discover & Explore linky is featuring Build It: Ideas for Little Engineers to encourage kids to create, play and explore the concepts of engineering.
I’m so excited to introduce a new series this week —
The ABC’s of Family Field Trips!
This will be a 5 day series covering all kinds of tips and ideas for those fun family outings you want to plan this year.
I really want to help you get prepared for some great family trips this year by offering resources to help get you ready, along with new ideas for some cool places to visit!
I’m so excited to be joining more than 20 other kid bloggers to host a virtual (online) book club for kids! Really, it’s a book club for families – a great way to introduce kids to wonderful authors, quality books and fun activities.
