I’m happy to be sharing my ideas on snack offerings as part of a compensated campaign with Collective Bias® and NickMom.  Although this is a sponsored post, all obsessions with healthy snacks and snarky opinions are entirely my own!

Ok, I need to tell you that if you read this post you are accepting the unwritten rules of the ‘parent code’ – and parent code says this is only between us grown-ups – you can NOT tell the kids.

Because if my kids ever really knew some of what I’m about to tell you, they would totally take advantage of it ALL THE TIME!

As part of a post sponsored by Collective Bias®, I visited Walgreens to learn more about annual flu vaccines and their amazing “Give a Shot, Get a Shot” campaign which helps kids around the world to stay healthy.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not crazy over shots but I do get my flu shot every year.  When I attended grad school for Public Health, I learned about the benefits of getting regularly scheduled vaccines for kids & adults.

Don’t you just love when you can reuse or upcycle something for the kids!

We needed a back-up backpack for the year {you know, for the days that the regular one gets left at school or to use as a bag for afterschool activities}.

I really didn’t want to purchase another one since we have so many old ones from previous years.  But the issue is many of the older ones have ‘little kids’ pictures on the front or are pretty worn out.

We’d like to thank Walmart for sponsoring this post and supplying parents with a great new option for back to school shopping.  As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Last year, back to school shopping for us was insane!  We usually head out a few weeks before school begins to get our supplies but since we decided to take a late vacation (to Rocky Mountain National Park – it was AMAZING!) we were pressed for time.

Once we returned, there was less than a week to get all the school supplies we needed.  Here’s a quick summary of how that worked out:

 summer of giving

I’m thrilled to be involved with a great project this week – Kiwi Crate’s Summer of Giving!

From July 16th – 22nd, I’ve teamed up with a dozen amazing Kid Bloggers to share this opportunitiy – for each new subscription ordered this week, Kiwi will donate one crate full of arts, crafts, and science activities to St. Jude’s Research Hosptial for each crate that is purchased.

Our goal is to donate 100 crates to the kids at St. Jude’s this week!

Below is a review of a Kiwi Crate along with details on how you can learn more about donations during the Summer of Giving.

Not familiar with Kiwi Crate?  Let me show you a little about what we found in our crate.
