Fall is a great time to enjoy some seasonal activities and special events that help to create those wonderful childhood memoires — hunting for pumpkins, a crisp walk around an outdoor festival and dressing up for trick or treat events.

Corn Mazes Around KC

Why not get lost for an afternoon in one of the large corn mazes!  Kids love running through the stalks and even teens will enjoy this fun family activity.

Looking for a fun way to celebrate Autumn?  These great events and festivals can be enjoyed by the whole family!


Throughout the Season

Lanesfield School is hosting “The Patch” Hayrides from 10 am – 5 pm on Sat. & Sun. in October.  Families can take a hayride at 11:00 am, 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. 

Paradise Park is having Hayrides, Cocoa & S’mores on Fridays & Saturdays from Sept 20th – Oct. 26th. 

Enjoy the fall festivities at Weston Red Barn Fall Festival  on weekends in September & October.

The American Royal will have a variety of events taking place from Sept. 5 – Nov. 16 — includes horse shows, rodeos and bbq competitions.

Some must-see suggestions:

  • Mildale Farm Fall Festivalis a wonderful outdoor event with crafts, pumpkins, hayrides and marshmallows!
  • Louisburg Ciderfest is held 2 weekends in the fall.  Kids will enjoy seeing how cider and donuts are made (and of course, you must taste some during your visit!)  Also crafts and activities too.
  • Pumpkin Fest at the Pony Express Museum is a feast for the eyes — thousands of glowing pumpkins, costume parade, food, rides and more!

Trick or Treat Festivities around Kansas City

Why not trick or treat early this year at one of the area’s fun attractions – in addition to candy, most also have great activities for the kids!

 

10/19-20 – Boo at the Zoo w/the Kansas City Zoo

Dress up and head out to the Kansas City Zoo for some trick-or-treating and lots of fun with the animals.  Admission charged.

 

10/26 – TLE Boo Fest at Exchange City and EarthWorks

This is a great family event in Kansas City with lots of trick or treat stations in a non-scary environment!  Admission for adults, kids are free

 

10/26-27 – Night of the Living Farmstead at Deanna Rose Farmstead

You’ve visited the Deanna Rose Farmstead during the day, but have you visited at night?  Kids will love the haunted barn, flashlight scavenger hunt, marshmallow shooters and more!  Admission charged – discount if bought in advance.

 

10/27 – Trick or Treat off the Street

Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farmstead will be hosting some Halloween fun for kids.  Admission charged.

 

10/27 – Trick or Treat on the Farm at the Nat’l Ag Museum

Grab a costume and head to the National Agriculture Center for some tricks and lots of treats!  Admission charged.

 

10/27 – Historical Hauntings @ Shawnee Town

Enjoy face painting, hayrides, balloon artists and trick-or-treating at the Shawnee Town 1929 MuseumFREE

 

10/19 – 31 – Bass Pro Shops Great Pumpkin Event

Tons of fun for kids – photos with the Great Pumpkin, in-store trick or treating, crafts and more at Bass Pro Stores in Independence and Olathe (plus all others around the country)! FREE
